2019 EPL Gala: Fundraising with Friends for our Milner Library

On Thursday, Sept. 26 library lovers headed to the Edmonton EXPO Centre to help us Finish the Fun and support the revitalization of the Stanley A. Milner Library for our annual EPL Gala. Thanks to the generosity of sponsors, auction contributors, donors and guests, we raised over $267,000, bringing us closer than ever to our goal of raising $10 million.

The night was full of great conversation, delicious food, luxury items and experiences from our silent auction, exclusive local gems from our Pop-Up Shop, and of course, a keynote speech from General Rick Hillier.

With all proceeds supporting the Milner revitalization, guests were excited to learn more about our progress on our downtown Library and what it would mean for Edmontonians. The best proof of what a library can do for a community comes from the people who frequent it daily, so we asked some of our biggest fans why they love EPL:

It was amazing to hear so many stories from customers and staff from all around the city who truly love EPL. Someone who knows firsthand the tremendous impact our downtown Library has on the lives of Edmontonians is the Stanley A. Milner Library Manager, Richard Thornley.

Richard spoke about his experiences during his seven years as the downtown Manager and the lives that have been impacted by EPL. Here’s a small snippet from his powerful testimonial:

We had a blast raising funds for our Milner Library, and our guests enjoyed themselves too (stay tuned for our Facebook album)!

If you want to help us Finish the Fun you can donate today and help make BIG changes possible.
