Dive in! Read, create, and explore this summer with Summer Reading Fest. There are amazing free classes and events happening at all 21 EPL locations, in addition to exciting special guest performances. Starting June 27, visit any EPL branch to sign up for our summer reading challenge and pick up your reading log. For every six hours that you read, you can make your own button (while supplies last) and get a prize ballot for your chance to win one of our weekly book prizes or one of our five grand prizes.

Reading Challenge
EPL participates in the TD Summer Reading Club, Canada’s biggest, bilingual summer reading program for kids. For every six hours you read, you'll receive a button (while supplies last) and entries into both our weekly book prize and our grand prize draw.
Whether you like reading graphic novels, cookbooks or listening to audiobooks—it all counts!
There are two ways to track and submit your time this year:
- On paper: Visit any EPL branch to pick up a paper copy of the reading log and drop off your ballot for the grand prize draw. Need another reading log? Ask staff for one while you're there.
- Online: Can't visit a branch? Enter your time online, opens a new window for every six hours you read. Make sure to select EPL as your branch and include parent contact information and you'll automatically receive an entry into the grand prize draw.

You can pick up your registration package at any EPL location between June 27 and August 22, 2026. The registration package includes:
- A Reading Log to track your reading minutes
- A notebook from the TD Summer Reading Club
- 2 general admission tickets to K-Days (while supplies last); thank you to Explore Edmonton for providing these items
- A sticker sheet
The activity booklet is available for school age and pre-school ages. If you require an accessible TD booklet, such as large print, please ask an EPL staff member at your local branch.
