Volunteering at EPL is a life-enriching, rewarding experience, because supporting EPL supports the community we’re all a part of.
Our network spans across Edmonton, so we need and appreciate help with all kinds of tasks. We need volunteers for everything from the simple and technical, to the public and behind the scenes.
Home Service Volunteer: EPL helps people with reduced mobility access our services through its Home Service program. Volunteers help by bringing library materials to those unable to visit the library.
Literacy And Learning
Reading Rockstars: Show kids how to rock with literacy and technology. As a Reading Rockstars volunteer, you’ll support EPL staff facilitating the Reading Rockstars Program at select Edmonton elementary schools.
Reading Buddies: Teens ages 13-17 only. Share your time and enthusiasm mentoring kids in grades 2 to 4 through one-on-one reading and interactive games.
Resume Prep and Job Applications Navigator: Support job seekers with resumes, cover letters and/or job applications. With your specialized knowledge and experience, you will provide one-on-one support to customers trying to find work.
Community Experts: Are you a tech wizard? Overflowing with digital creativity? Maybe you're a butcher, baker, or candlestick maker – do you have a skill, talent, or hobby to share with your community? Share your specialized knowledge with Edmontonians by volunteering to design and host a workshop, event or instruction session at the library in your area of expertise.
Donation Support Volunteer: Sort through generously donated materials at branches and help organize material for EPL's book sales.
