EPL’s success starts with a stellar team!
We’re proud to help grow the literacies and life skills of all Edmontonians. EPL is an incredible place to work, so we hire the greatest people. Helping people increase their life literacies to find success is a big job, and no one can do it alone. It takes a great team, a culture of collaboration, fresh ideas and a team spirit that’s second to none.
As a united group, we believe in making Edmonton better.
Connecting and learning with community residents is our duty, every day.
"Working at EPL, I've had so many wonderful opportunities and shared experiences I would’ve never had anywhere else. Being an immigrant, I've met wonderful, creative and fun people and made friends for life!"
– Neil J., Library Assistant
"The Library is so many things to so many different people. Be it a refuge for someone experiencing homelessness, a helpful haven for folks that are new to Canada or the first chapter in a child’s lifelong love of learning. For me, it’s humbling to be a part this vital institution."
– Zane W., Library Assistant
"It is an uplifting place to be. We have experienced so much growth in the last few years that the opportunities seem endless; you just have to find your fit."
– Ilona S., Collections Librarian
"I couldn’t have imagined driving a giant Literacy Van to provide library service in remote reaches of Edmonton, or filming a nursery rhyme video, or hosting a rap workshop for young offenders. EPL embraces diversity and so my experiences have been diverse, and I am professionally and personally better for it."
– Laura Y., Community Librarian
"When I moved to Edmonton a few years ago, EPL was one of the first places I visited. Because EPL is a safe and welcoming space, a compassionate institution with a big emphasis on newcomer and community outreach, I just had to apply!"
– Jason M., Library Assistant
"Working in an environment where I come to work and feel appreciated and supported really makes it easier to come into work every day. Having a sense of accomplishment where I can physically see how my efforts affect the entire branch is really motivating."
– Jennifer J., Page
