If you're interested in checking out vinyl records or turntables, here's how you can do it: Head up to the second floor of Stanley A. Milner Library to browse through the collection of vinyl record jackets. Once you've found what you're looking for, simply bring them down to the main floor customer service desk. You can borrow up to five vinyl records at once. Staff will then fetch the vinyl records from the circulation room and bring them to you for checkout. Additionally, if you're keen on borrowing a turntable, you can do so directly from the main floor customer service desk.
You can borrow a turntable for up to 21 days. Renewals are not allowed.
You can borrow up to five vinyl records and one turntable at a time for 21 days; no renewals are allowed.
Vinyl records are available for borrowing exclusively at Stanley A. Milner Library. While they can be returned to any EPL branch, we kindly encourage you to return them to Stanley A. Milner whenever possible.

Vinyl record grooves are “read” by a turntables’ arm needle and the vibrations from the needle are then transferred to a speaker for listening. Traditionally, you could listen to a vinyl record with analog (non-electric) hand cranked turntables.
