Edmonton Public Library Reopening Plan: Update #3

Dear Library Lovers,

As you know, EPL has been closely monitoring the developments related to COVID-19. We took our first step towards reopening in late June with our holds pickup service, Library Takeout.

After carefully monitoring our progress this past month, we feel confident in moving to the next phase (Phase 3) of our reopening plan starting on Tuesday, Aug. 4.

In Phase 3, you can access even more in-person services such as computers, printing, faxing photocopying, using the study rooms, and more.

Have questions about this new phase? Check out our FAQs.

We continue to work collaboratively with City of Edmonton and Alberta Health to ensure EPL practices reflect new information as it is available.

The City of Edmonton recently mandated wearing face coverings in public spaces starting Saturday, Aug. 1. Wearing a face covering helps keep everyone safe and shows we care. We ask that all EPL customers comply with the new bylaw and wear a face covering while inside an EPL location as of Saturday, Aug. 1. We remain committed to meeting your needs where possible, while following the public health restrictions in place.

If you prefer to access the Library from the comfort of your home, customers with computer access will continue to have free and unlimited use of EPL’s digital resources through EPL from Home. You can chat live with us at epl.ca/ContactEPL, give us a call at 780-496-7000 or text us at 587-817-0337. Whether you want to discover new resources, receive book recommendations, or have any questions, we’re always happy to hear from you.

We are thrilled to welcome you back to the Library.
