Every book is a world waiting to be explored.
From October 5–9, Edmontonians are invited to celebrate Read In Week, a city-wide celebration of reading, literacy and the stories that connect us. Learn more about the initiative at readin.ca
This year’s theme, Let Stories Soar, is all about the places stories can take us. A good story can lift us into new worlds, introduce us to unforgettable characters, spark our curiosity and help us see things in a new way.
At Edmonton Public Library, we believe everyone should have the chance to discover stories that inspire, challenge, comfort and open new possibilities. Whether you are reading a picture book with a child, exploring a graphic novel, listening to an audiobook, reading aloud with a class or finding a quiet moment with an old favourite, every story has the power to take flight.
This year, EPL is proud to help host Read In Week alongside schools, literacy organizations, post-secondary institutions and community partners across Edmonton.
A special Read In Week launch video will be shared on October 5. In the meantime, we invite you to start thinking about the stories that have lifted your imagination, opened new worlds or helped you see things in a new way.
As Read In Week approaches, share a story with someone in your life. Read aloud. Recommend a favourite book. Visit your local library. Discover something new.
Share a story. Let stories soar.
