After careful deliberation, the Edmonton Public Library (EPL) has decided to remain operating at a 33% fire code capacity instead of implementing the Restriction Exemption Program at this time. EPL is currently working through clarifying how the Restriction Exemption Program applies to public libraries. In the meantime, we will continue to adhere to public health restrictions including the City of Edmonton’s Temporary Mandatory Face Coverings Bylaw mandating face coverings inside all EPL locations. Some of those most impacted by the pandemic are our most vulnerable community members and we want to ensure our spaces remain accessible.
We will continue to monitor and respond to the situation as it develops.
