What better way to kick off 2020 than with a new and improved EPL App? On Wednesday, Jan. 15, a mobile app update will be available for iOS users in the Apple app store.
What's New?
Personalized Home Screen
Once you log in to the updated EPL App, you’ll be greeted with the home screen, which features a personalized dashboard at the top. This dashboard gives you important account information at a glance, such as overdue items, items due soon, titles ready for pick up and overdue fees.
Event Listings
Want to see what’s happening at the Library? EPL’s event listings are now available on the app home screen. You can filter by audience, event type or location; view event details; and register for events. Click on an event in the app to learn more about it!
Easier Searching and Borrowing
Searching in the new app is easier than ever! Simply click the magnifying glass icon at the top right corner of the home screen. Search results now display all formats of the same title together, like search results on epl.ca.
To borrow or place holds, follow these steps:
- Select your desired format
- Navigate to the Borrow tab
- Tap on the Checkout Now or Place a Hold button
The new app update allows you to manage your borrowing in bulk. This includes pausing and cancelling holds; renewing checked out items; adding items to your Completed, In Progress or For Later Shelves; and paying library fines.
Modern Look and Feel
EPL Mobile for iOS got a facelift! It has cleaner lines, more white space and a more consistent look to our epl.ca website design launched in June 2019.
When will the new Android app be available?
BiblioCommons is currently working on an Android update to EPL Mobile, which will be released later in 2020. Until then, there will be no updates to the current EPL App for Android, as the BiblioCommons development team is working hard to build out the new update.
