Frequently Asked Questions

  • The Palace Project is leaving EPL's online resource collection at the end of day (11:59 pm) on June 30, 2026.

Once the service ends, loans and holds on Audible titles - no matter when they were checked out or placed - will expire and can no longer be accessed. Please finish your listening on or before June 30, 2026. Search our catalogue or contact EPL for help finding titles in alternative formats.

Libby by OverDrive titles checked out or placed on hold through The Palace Project App remain accessible through your same library card and PIN/password, but will need to be accessed through the Libby App on iOS, Android, or the web or through our legacy OverDrive website.

Please note the chapter you paused on as this information (and any bookmarks) cannot automatically sync between Libby and The Palace Project App.

  • On September 17, 2025, Libby by OverDrive introduced a change to simplify how items on hold work to help libraries deliver holds more efficiently and get the best value out of digital licenses for their communities.

With the previous system, popular titles on hold were frequently waiting up to 72 hours for a decision from the next person in the queue. Over thousands of titles each year, this time adds up and takes away from the time spent reading or listening to titles. This change should also help to improve the accuracy of waiting times shown by only indicating customers who are waiting and ready to check out immediately.

    Under the new system:

    • Customers no longer schedule hold suspensions for a specific number of days - instead, holds are now either active or suspended.
    • If you miss checking out your hold the first time it becomes available, that hold is now automatically suspended.
    • If you aren't ready to checkout your hold when it arrives, simply suspend it.

Holds can be suspended in Libby by OverDrive for up to 365 days consecutively and afterwards they are automatically cancelled.

Your hold will indicate if it is within 30 days of being cancelled.

  • Starting Tuesday, Aug. 19, EPL is reducing the number of holds customers can place on Libby by OverDrive from 30 to 15 items.
