For immediate release:

EDMONTON, AB, Friday, Feb. 9, 2024 — The Edmonton Public Library (EPL) unionized staff voted yes for a strike. While CSU 52 voted to strike, it does not mean a strike will happen or that a strike will take place immediately.

The Library will remain open as usual until such time as CSU 52 provides 72-hours notice of strike action.

EPL locations remain open to Edmontonians until further notice.

EPL continues to work with our union partners and remains committed to reaching an agreement that is fair and equitable for CSU 52 members, the Library and taxpayers.
