EDMONTON, AB,  October 5, 2018 – The Londonderry Branch of the Edmonton Public Library (EPL) has moved within Londonderry Mall., opens a new window While the move wasn’t far, the change and benefits for the community are big.

EPL has been serving the diverse communities surrounding Londonderry Mall for over four decades. The first library branch in the city’s north end opened in the Dickinsfield Shopping Center at 144 Avenue and 92 Street in 1973. The library was moved to Londonderry Mall in 1984 due to a growth in demand, and the branch was later renovated and expanded in 1997.

“Just over a decade later, more change has taken place to improve accessibility and increase natural light,” said Pilar Martinez, Chief Executive Officer of EPL. “The new space is sleek, open and bright, and better meets the needs of our customers while also matching the recent modern renovations of the mall.”

The new 9,700 square foot location, which first opened to the public on August 13, 2018, is across from Soft Moc and Stockhomme on the main floor of the mall., opens a new window
