Named Director of EPL in 1990, Penny McKee set about redefining the library and preparing for its future while also defending readers’ interests and calling for sustainable funding. She retired in 1996 and passed away in 1997. When a branch opened in the growing community of Abbottsfield in September 1997, it was named in her honour.
