Volunteer Location

Volunteer Responsibilities

  • Weeding garden beds, pruning and "deadheading".
  • Cleaning the garden beds (e.g. litter removal).
  • Responsible for spring and fall clean up.
  • In collaboration with the Edmonton Horticultural Society, ensure the garden is well maintained.

Volunteer Skills & Qualifications

Required

  • Able to work outdoors using hand and gardening tools.
  • Willingness to learn.
  • Ability to work independently and as a team.

Preferred

  • Have a pre-existing knowledge of garden maintenance.
  • Have gardening gloves and other basic gardening tools to perform gardening tasks.

Volunteer Commitment

Length of Commitment

  • June to September

Time Commitment

  • One to two hours bi-weekly or as needed to maintain the garden

Orientation / Training

  • Hands on training with the Edmonton Horticultural Society.  Time to be determined between volunteers and the Horticultural Society.
