Help a New Summer Story Begin
Did you know that kids can lose up to two months of learning over the summer? The “summer slide” makes it harder for children to catch up when school starts again. For many families in our community, finding an affordable way to keep kids engaged and learning is a real challenge.
That’s why this year’s Storytime Soirée will support EPL’s Cook Up a Story, a summer camp for kids aged 9 to 11 from socially vulnerable families.
This exciting summer camp, hosted at the Stanley A. Milner Library, provides kids ages 9 to 11 the opportunity to keep on learning during the summer months. The camp offers a fun, hands-on learning experience with activities like reading, writing, cooking, gaming, and crafting.
Cook Up a Story is part of a five-year pilot project, and we’re just getting started. Your continued support will help ensure this camp can grow and thrive for years to come—at no cost to families.
Date: Saturday, September 27
Time: 7:30 – 10:00 p.m.
Location: Stanley A. Milner library
Ticket price: $175
Buy your ticket by July 31 for a chance to win three signed books
