EDMONTON, AB, Thursday, Oct. 2, 2025 — The Edmonton Public Library (EPL), in collaboration with Taproot Edmonton, is proud to host the 2025 Mayoral Candidate Forum, a free, non-partisan event designed to foster civic engagement and informed voting.
Taking place on Thursday, Oct. 9, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., the forum will be held live at the Muttart Theatre in the Stanley A. Milner Library before a sold-out audience. To ensure broader community access, the event will also be livestreamed and recorded for future viewing.
This forum provides Edmontonians with a meaningful opportunity to hear directly from those seeking to lead our city as they engage in dialogue on issues that matter most to the community. Questions will be shaped by public input gathered through online polls, ensuring the conversation reflects the priorities and concerns of Edmontonians. A live Q&A session will further invite both in-person and online participants to ask questions directly to the candidates.
"As a community connector, the Edmonton Public Library is honoured to foster thoughtful conversations about the future of our city,” said Pilar Martinez, CEO of EPL. “This forum reflects our commitment to civic engagement, offering Edmontonians a valuable opportunity to hear directly from mayoral candidates on key issues like affordability, community wellbeing, and decisions that will influence Edmonton’s next four years“.
Award-winning journalist, podcast host and TV personality, Stacey Brotzel will moderate this insightful discussion. To help voters get acquainted with candidates ahead of the forum, introductory videos from the candidates are available at epl.ca/forum, offering a brief overview of each candidate’s platform and vision for Edmonton.
