As your community rapidly expands, we're dedicated to growing with you. That's why your branch is moving to a brand-new, expanded location just across the street! This effort will better meet your evolving needs and deliver an even bigger, brighter, and better library experience, opening in December 2025.
What to Expect During the Transition
We’re working hard to make this move as smooth as possible, so you can keep borrowing, learning, and connecting.
Branch Operations
- We're staying open! The library will maintain regular branch hours throughout the relocation period. We're committed to minimizing any disruptions to your service.
- Holds: All holds will be available for pickup at the current location until we officially reopen at the new space.

New Space, New Features
Your exceptional experience is always our top priority, and this expansion is designed to make your time with us even better. The new branch will be a game-changer:
- Three Times Larger: At approximately 10,000 square feet, the new location is almost three times the size of the current branch!
- Digital Wall: Inspired by The Wall at our Stanley A. Milner Library, HVY will have a new interactive digital display for customers to enjoy.
- Makerspace: A dedicated area for people to flex their creative muscles.
- Dedicated Program Room: More space for Storytime, workshops, and community gatherings.
- More Study Areas: Increased comfortable seating and quiet study spots.
- Larger Collection: Check out more books, movies, and resources than ever before.
- Additional Public Computers: Better access to technology and the internet.
- Location: Find us at 2755 119A Street S.W, just south of the current spot, in the Heritage Valley Town Centre.

This exciting expansion and relocation are being made possible thanks to dedicated community planning and funding.
In November 2023, the City of Edmonton Council approved our funding request for the expansion. This additional support allows us to expand our services and better meet your growing needs.
