Always looking for the most recent magazine issues to find out the latest fashion or technology trends? You've likely been browsing RBdigital's magazine collection, reading issues of National Geographic, Cosmopolitan, Newsweek among some of their 250+ magazines. You can still keep reading but as of Monday, Jan. 25 the RBdigital magazine collection will be moved to OverDrive.
We're here to make this transition as seamless as possible for you. Here are some answers to a few questions you may have:
Will there be a circulation cap on magazines (e.g., each issue can only circulate up to X number of times)?
Nope. There will not be circulation caps on any magazine titles.
Can users renew magazines?
Yes. Users will have the option to renew a magazine within three days of the end of the lending period. Since magazines are offered under simultaneous use, customers may borrow the magazine again at any time. The lending period for magazines is 21 days.
Will magazines count against a user’s OverDrive checkout limits?
No. Magazines will not count toward checkout limits.
Will OverDrive have a magazine reader similar to RBdigital?
The Libby app will offer an article and thumbnail view for magazine titles. The article view will not be available on the OverDrive app and website. At launch, Libby will not have text to speech functionality for magazines. It is being considered for future development.
What about AcornTV?
AcornTV content will also be moving to OverDrive in the near future. For now, continue to use the RBdigital app/website for AcornTV content and we will let you know when the move is happening.
