It's been a long time in the making, but we're sure proud to show you our new epl.ca. EPL wanted to make it simpler for you, our customers, to find what you need; and this new site will do just that! There are always some growing pains adjusting to change, but we're confident you'll get the hang of our site really quickly.
Websites are always a work in progress. Please take a minute to fill out the feedback form and send us your feedback (good or bad), we want to hear it. Your comments will be used to make our site even better.
Happy exploring!
Why did EPL launch a new website?
Technology and web trends are ever-evolving and what worked five years ago doesn’t work anymore. We took customer feedback and blended that with website best practices to bring you the new epl.ca that makes its debut on December 9, 2015.
What are the biggest changes I’ll notice on the new epl.ca?
Clean design, concise text and intuitive navigation are the building blocks of the new site. Our old design was very busy and it was sometimes hard for customers to find what they were looking for. We took out the extra content that wasn’t related to EPL’s core services and worked hard to make finding our content as intuitive as possible.
That said, we’re always looking for feedback and encourage customers to submit their comments and ideas through the Website Feedback button at the bottom right of the page.
Can I still access my library account on the new site?
Absolutely! In fact the new site is built on the same platform that used to take you to your online customer account. Because of this, it will be even easier to find awesome content in the EPL collection.
I don’t really like change; can I still use the old site?
Change is hard – we get it. But we know you’ll love the site as much as us once you get used to the new format. The old site isn’t available anymore, but if you have any questions feel free to talk to one of our helpful staff in branch or through the chat feature online (click the help menu to access the chat feature).
How can all the information I used to access still be available on a much simpler looking site?
One of the trends in website design is to take the content that used to live in the left navigation bar and include it in the fat footer (the menu at the bottom of each page). If you’re looking for something and can’t find it in the top navigation, head south on the page and you’ll likely find what you’re looking for.
Can I access the site on my mobile device or tablet?
Yes, one of the features of this site is it scales well regardless of your screen or device size. Rather than looking at the whole site in a mini version, the site will scale automatically when you visit it from mobile devices or tablets.
I have a suggestion about the site, where can I submit it?
We’re always looking for feedback and encourage customers to submit their comments and ideas through the Website Feedback button at the bottom right of the page.
