3D Printing Guidelines

  1. EPL reserves the right to refuse any prints request based on (but not limited to) the following criteria:
    • Our 3D printing service is primarily offered in a non-commercial capacity. If you require a large number of copies of a file to be printed, we may refer you to a commercial printing company.
    • If an object is incompatible with our printers, we will always contact you for alternate arrangements.
    • We will refuse to print any object that is a weapon, in part or in whole.
      • Recognizable cosplay prop requests will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis.
  2. We will always endeavour to print the oldest item in the print queue first, through we reserve the right to reassign priorities on a case-by-case basis.
  3. Our 3D printers utilize a technique known as fused-filament fabrication. Due to the nature of this process, small defects may appear during printing. Despite this, we will make multiple attempts to complete the print at no additional charge to you.
  4. EPL Staff will not make major modifications or re-design an object on your behalf, but we may use software to make minor repairs. Any files we receive are assumed to be final versions and ready to print.
  5. Some objects will require procedurally generated support material to complete the print. In these situations, you are responsible for the purchase and removal of this material.
  6. Please ensure that each separate part of your print request is submitted as a single file.
  7. File dimensions must be provided in millimetres. If you are unsure of the size of your model, there are many free tools available to double-check the scaling of your object.
  8. If a copyright holder believes that their intellectual property rights have been infringed by the use of our 3D printing services, we will take all necessary steps as an intermediary to notify the relevant parties under the Notice-and-Notice provision of the Copyright Modernization Act of 2012.)
  9. Payment for printing services is due at the time of pickup. If your item is not picked up within three months, EPL will assume ownership of the printed objects.
  10. Files uploaded to our server will be deleted after your object has been printed. If you require future copies, please retain your files for future submission.
