Government and Law

The Edmonton Public Library is a full government depository library with a large collection of print materials from all three levels of government.

The Stanley A. Milner branch houses most of the government collection in print form.  The Lois Hole, Londonderry and Whitemud  branches are selective depositories with a limited collection of government resources.
In addition, Edmonton Public Library provides access through its website to subscription-based databases and links to numerous online government resources to assist you with your research.
The online catalogue is a good place to begin searching for government publications. You can search by title, subject, author or issuing body. Using the Advanced Search feature, you can further limit your search to documents from specific dates or date ranges. (Remember that not all government documents appear in the catalogue; if you cannot find what you are looking for, contact our knowledgeable staff for assistance.)
Government Websites: Go to the Websites link above for quick access to frequently used government websites.
Government Work Station: The Stanley A. Milner branch has a government workstation with selected electronic government documents and databases (especially Statistics Canada products). These resources are available in-library only at the Milner branch on the 2nd floor. Please ask reference staff for assistance.
