EPL is the premier destination for free family fun this Family Day!

Looking for some free fun on Family Day? 

All branches are open from 1-5 pm and along with the same great services we offer everyday, we've got a unique array of special programs and events for you and your family to enjoy, including an Interative Screening of Willy Wonka and The Chocolate Factory at the Stanley A. Milner Library. 

All our Family Day programs are drop-in. 

Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory Interactive Movie

Get ready to take a trip into a world of pure imagination with EPL this Family Day. We are presenting the original 1971 version of Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory. Sing along with the Oompa Loompas and cheer on Charlie as he makes his way through Willly Wonka's amazing, fabulous, stupendous chocolate factory.

Traditional Aboriginal Dance

Aboriginal Dancer, Adrian LaChance, will showcase some traditional Aboriginal dance.

Adrian LaChance is a Plains Cree member from the James Smith Cree Nation. He is a traditional dancer, drummer and story teller.  Mr. LaChance is also a part of The Running Thunder Dancers, a group that has travelled across the world sharing the beautiful culture of Cree song and dance.

Celebrate the launch of The Poetry Route — an Edmonton Poetry Festival project that puts poems inside ETS buses. The current flight of bus poetry celebrates Edmonton Public Library’s Centennial. The four poets whose work was selected for this theme — Wendy Joy, Gary Garrison, Ben Murray and D’James Rushlow — will read their winning submissions.
