EPL customers with laptops or other mobile devices with "Wi-Fi" can now use wireless Internet in our branches. Free Wi-Fi gives customers another option for accessing the Internet. If you bring your laptop to a branch, you can use the Internet without time restrictions, and without needing to wait in line for a library computer station.
This service is:
- Available in every EPL branch.
- Free of charge
- Provided during branch hours
- The same Internet access available on our public computer stations
This service is available during regular branch hours at each location
To get connected:
- Make sure your Wi-Fi-compatible device is on, and its wireless networking feature is enabled. Choose "EPL-Public-Wireless" as your wireless network
- Launch your web browser. If it does not automatically take you to www.epl.ca, type this into the address bar.
- Click the "Connect to EPL's Wireless" link in the centre column (see image to the right)
- Read the onscreen instructions and click "Connect Now"
- When prompted, enter your EPL library card number and PIN

- Your IP address will be shown on the following page. You must show this to the staff at a service desk.
- The staff will authenticate your IP, granting you 3 hours of access to the wireless network. After 3 hours you will need to authenticate again at the service desk.
