- Canada Kids Earthquake Challenge

"Eight-year-old Bilaal Rajan, UNICEF Canada child spokesperson, wants to challenge his peers across the country to raise $1 million to help children affected by the unprecedented South Asia disaster. He is asking Canadian children to raise $100 each to donate to UNICEF Canada’s Indian Ocean Earthquake Emergency campaign."
- Canadian Library Association
CLA is collecting donations to rebuild libraries and restore library service in the tsunami-struck south-east Asia. CLA is working hand-in-hand with the International Federation of Library Associations and Institutions (IFLA).
CLA has allocated $10,000 to a special fund for tsunami-related redevelopment efforts, and is asking the Canadian library community to add to the fund.
As a registered charity, CLA will issue receipts for income-tax purposes for donations of $25.00 and up.
