Collections: Jasper Place Branch has a large collection of approximately 90,000 items. For all ages, there are fiction and non-fiction books (including current bestsellers), CD's, DVD's and videos. Of interest to seniors are our large print and audio books. An extensive picture book collection is of particular interest to parents and young readers. In addition, Jasper Place has a variety of other language materials available in Chinese, Russian and Vietnamese. There is a small and popular collection of children's books in Chinese, French, German and Spanish, and an Aboriginal collection that includes books, magazines, CDs and DVDs.

The Teen collection includes graphic novels, information, comic books, audio books and CDs of interest to 13 - 18 year olds.

Customers will also find a sizable collection of paperbacks, magazines and an outstanding seasonal collection.

Services: Jasper Place is a busy branch circulating over 700,000 annually to 267,663 visitors.

Branch programs include early literacy (Baby Laptime, Fun for Ones, Time for Twos) and storytime for all ages, and popular interest programs for adults. Library staff work closely with neighbourhood school teachers and students to promote reading.

Jasper Place has 15 internet stations, and offers one-on-one tutorials for people new to computers, email and the Internet. For those needing adaptive technology, a Big Keys keyboard is available for public use.

Available for public use are study carrels and a quiet reading area. We offer library tours and library staff are pleased to visit schools, speak at community events or provide information and materials for community groups.
