1971 - Southgate Branch opened in the Southgate Shopping Mall.

1983 - Southgate Branch, the busiest one in the system, received its long-awaited expansion. An elevator was installed to improve access for the handicapped and mothers with young children in strollers.

2002 - Relocated to it's new home at Whitemud Crossing. Twice the size, twice the service.
