1966 - October - Capilano Branch opened. Located at the Capilano Shopping Mall, it was the first Edmonton Public Library branch to be housed in a shopping centre.

1980 - Capilano Branch moved into new quarters in the upper level of the Capilano Mall.

2000 - Capilano branch was renovated and expanded, gaining 2,000 square feet of space and a comfortable reading area with a fireplace.
